Daniel Island Academy - Reference Point Readiness Check

OUR SYSTEM OF TRACKING YOUR CHILD'S PROGRESS

Daniel Island Academy is THE only school to offer Reference Point, an innovative system of measuring and tracking your child's development, and our progress.

Reference Point is a proprietary system of Daniel Island Academy that provides a comprehensive educational portfolio for each child at Daniel Island Academy. Families utilize this system to provide a map of their child’s educational and developmental strengths and progression. Furthermore, teachers are better able to assess children’s developmental information to create an individual plan to support the developmental goals for each child. This information is updated and followed throughout the year, and most importantly, year-to-year as children transition to the next classroom.

Reference Point includes a Readiness Check conducted individually with each child soon after the start of the school year. Included is The Denver II, a standardized assessment tool that provides information regarding fine motor, gross motor, socialization, and language. With the information provided, a comprehensive developmental report is created reflecting parent information, Creative Curriculum goals, observations, and teacher reports.

The following Photo Journal showcases an important tool of Reference Point, the Readiness Check. Shown are a representative group of children, ages one through four years, completing various tasks as part of a standard Readiness Check.
