Tour Our School

Daniel Island Academy was open in 2004 in response to a growing need in the business and residential community for a superior quality preschool. Early on the decision was made to create an early childhood education center, programs, and curriculum to the high standards of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). To date, we are the ONLY preschool in the East Cooper Area, which includes Daniel Island, Mount Pleasant, Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island, to have achieved this accreditation, and one of only a few in the region.

The school campus has been designed and built to 'green building' standards in order to receive a Leadership in Environment and Energy Design (LEED) certification. Every aspect of the school campus has been carefully planned to accommodate the needs of young children, and to engage them at every turn. From classroom gardens and outdoor musical instruments installed in the courtyard, to spacious classrooms with an abundance of natural light, no expense was spared to make it the best experience possible for young children. We also offer an allergy-safe facility that is cleaned with non-toxic products, and employ a private chef who prepares wholesome and nutritious snacks to avoid ingredients with known allergy triggers.
