Enrichment Programs

 

Dance, science, music, art and tumbling, are a few of the Enrichment Program offerings available outside of the regular classroom, most often in our Multi-purpose room. These programs encourage children to explore new interests, develop new skills, and make new friends from other classrooms.

Listed below is a sampling of Enrichment Classes offered

throughout the year include:

 

Supplemental Enrichment Programs are offered to encourage children to explore new interests and develop new skills. Your child’s teacher and school staff are available to help plan an Enrichment Program schedule that will benefit your child’s continued development and interests. Some of the programs offered include:

Soccer Shots introduces soccer to your child in a fun, safe, and controlled environment. Each week offers 30 minute soccer sessions teaching basic soccer skills, fun games, and healthy competition. 

Dance Express is exciting and “fun-filled”. Students take a 45-min. combination class consisting of basic Tap and basic Ballet techniques. The Jazz portion of the class allows students to explore other ways to express themselves freely by using upbeat, high energy music.

Beginner Violin introduces children to their very first instrument! Activities include: creative composing of a “sound story”, movement, rhythm games, singing and note reading.  

Kids Hip Hop teaches high-energy, age-appropriate classes where kids will learn fun hip-hop techniques and fundamentals, danced to their favorite music. Strength, coordination and confidence are incorporated into every class.

Wee Little Arts is a visual arts curriculum for young children. Using art history and developmentally appropriate children’s literature, students are exposed to a wide range of visual art concepts. Vocabulary, use of materials, discussion, imagination and creation are encouraged.

Gymboree Sports and Fitness introduces children to many different sports in a fun, developmentally appropriate way. From soccer to basketball, volleyball to baseball, children will sing, use their imaginations, dance, read, exercise and learn to love sports!

Gymboree on the Go will strengthen a child's language and motor skills through prop and equipment play. Children enjoy bubbles, songs, prop play, instruments and equipment designed to develop balance, strength and coordination alongside peers.

JumpBunch is the national leading mobile children’s sports and fitness program, provides a friendly, non-competitive introduction to a variety of sports, including football, croquet, soccer, yoga, Frisbee, golf and more!

Mad Science programs are unique hands-on, minds-on learning experiences for pre-school children. Interactive and developmentally appropriate, each class introduces children to a basic science topic.

Tumble Time is a combination of gymnastics, coordination and basic body movement incorporated with rhymes and music specifically for children 18mo.to 5 yrs. Children are taught gymnastics skills in a progression style on Junior-sized Olympic style equipment.

Karate - Children enjoy high energy classes filled to the brim with skills and drills that develop balance, coordination, gross motor skills, flexibility, and endurance, as well as focus and listening skills. Ki-Ya!!!

Brick by Brick provides project-based programs to teach the principles and methods of engineering, architecture, math and science using LEGO bricks.

Cheernastics is an exciting combination of cheers, chants, jumps and tumbling as it relates to cheerleading!
