Daniel Island Academy Appoints New Director

DANIEL ISLAND, South Carolina (March 12, 2007) – Daniel Island Academy appointed Kerry Nowosielski as Director of its pre-school academy.

Ms. Nowosielski is an experienced teacher and school administrator who began her teaching career in Boston, MA in 1990. She assumed the position of Director of the Guild of St. Agnes Preschool in Worcester, MA in 1998 and was responsible for a number of small off-site programs as well as the large Early Childhood Development Center. During her tenure at St.

Agnes she successfully led her school through the extensive National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation process.

A graduate of Wheelock College in Boston, MA with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education, Ms. Nowosielski attended the Worcester State College Graduate Program in Educational Administration and is certified by the Massachusetts Office of Child Care Services. Kerry is a mother of three currently living in Summerville.

As Center Director, Kerry is responsible for maintaining NAEYC required standards with respect to staffing, programming, and the overall operation of the school’s academic and developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Daniel Island Academy is an Early Childhood Development Center serving some 280 children ages 1-5. It opened its doors as the new model for area childcare in 2004. The Academy is the only regional school that has met NAEYC standards (see NAEYC.ORG) from its very inception.

The school received its NAEYC accreditation in 2006.
